Philosophy & Safety

How We Think About Play

At Tiny's Corner, we believe children learn best when they're free to explore at their own pace — not directed, not rushed, and not overstimulated.

Every element of our space was designed around open-ended play. There are no scripts, no right answers, and no pressure to move from one activity to the next. Children follow their curiosity. They build, create, imagine, and discover in their own way and in their own time. Our guided activities are there as open invitations — something exciting happening in the corner that a child can join, explore, and walk away from entirely on their own terms.

We also believe that calm is a feature, not an accident. A quieter, more intentional environment allows children to go deeper — to focus, to collaborate naturally with other children, and to find genuine satisfaction in what they create. Socialization happens not because it's scheduled, but because the space invites it.

A Space You Can Trust

Every family that walks through our doors deserves to feel completely at ease — and we take that seriously.

Our team is warm, attentive, and present throughout the space, creating an environment where children feel welcomed and comfortable from the moment they arrive. All staff are background-checked and certified in First Aid and CPR.

We clean regularly using non-toxic, child-safe products — because the children playing here are touching everything, and that matters. Socks are required for all children to maintain a clean and safe environment for everyone.

Tiny's Corner is designed to give parents genuine peace of mind. Not just the feeling of it — the real thing.

Our Story

Tiny’s Corner began with a simple idea: to create a place where children can play, explore, and create freely, and where parents can truly enjoy being there too.

Family of four sitting on grass, smiling, with a brick wall behind them. The family includes two parents and two children, a boy and a girl, enjoying a sunny day.

A circular arrangement of brown, wedge-shaped slices radiates outward from a small central opening, resembling a pie or pastry cut into 24 pieces.

As a parent, I wanted a space that felt calm, welcoming, and thoughtfully designed. A place where children naturally engage in activities, imagination, and play, and where parents weren’t just waiting on the sidelines for the visit to be over. I wanted to create something different.

At Tiny’s Corner, creativity and exploration are at the heart of every visit. The space is designed to encourage children to build, imagine, experiment, and connect with one another through play.

Activities rotate throughout the day so there is always something new happening — whether children are building together, exploring materials, or stepping into imaginative role-play.

Located inside Tysons Corner Center, Tiny’s Corner was created to fit naturally into family life — a place where children can explore while parents pause for a moment in the middle of a busy day.

Tiny’s Corner is, at its heart, a family idea: a place where children explore with confidence and parents feel at ease.
